Founded in 2019 by Abhishek Ravi, Minutemen Racing is the first Formula SAE team at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Our mission is to design, build, and compete with a Formula-style race car in the 2026 Pittsburgh Shootout, a weekend showcase of the teams in driving distance of Pittsburgh, PA. This event follows the official competition events, so it is a relaxed but competitive drive day for these schools.

Our Team consists of 50 students with a range of skills, who have worked on the development and assembly of our car to put together a completed vehicle that was ready for testing in the Spring of 2026.
